Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is an economic free zone that was established in 2002 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The free zone is governed by government entity Dubai Healthcare City Authority and regulated by independent body Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory.
Located in the heart of Dubai, DHCC comprises two phases. Phase 1 occupying 9 million square feet in Oud Metha; Phase 2 expansion, currently under development, occupies 19 million square feet in Al Jaddaf Dubai, overlooking the wetland reserve Ras al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary and Dubai Water Canal that links the Dubai Creek natural seawater inlet of the Arabian Gulf.

Friends of Cancer Patients is a non-profit organization, founded in 1999 and is committed to help cancer patients and their families get through their long journey of cancer treatment. The Society for Telemedicine and eHealth in Nigeria (SFTeHIN) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit society, a national member International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH) registered in Switzerland and NGO in official relations with World Health Organization, whose interest is in Telemedicine and eHealth. SfTeHiN support national telemedicine and eHealth programs and promotes the cause of telemedicine and eHealth within public and private health institutions within Nigeria and other International Institutions/ organisations. The Society for Telemedicine and eHealth led stakeholders in collaboration with Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) to adopt 31 identical and one modified ISO/TC215 Health Informatics Technical Reports, Technical Specifications and International Standards for Nigeria.
The UAE Genetic Diseases Association (UAEGDA) and Sheikh Zayed Research Centre were founded in 2004 as a dedication to the memory of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the U.A.E. We renew our pledge to serve the community in 2018, the “Year of Zayed.” UAEGDA aims to: increase awareness of the common genetic disorders in the UAE and the region; empower the community with reliable, credible and easy-to-use information about the common genetic disorders, especially preventable disorders and share the tools and services that are available, affordable, and accessible.
UAEGDA also works to promote “Women in STEM” through action-led and sustained programs and initiatives. UAE Rare Diseases Society under UAE GDA is committed to awareness, information and education through community programs and promoting advocacy, research, and patient services for rare disorders.
UAE GDA works towards supporting the federal healthcare strategy of United Arab Emirates and establishes comprehensive proposals on new findings which support/recommend new legislation, human resources requirements, and education curriculum across the nation. Since 2006, the Association has also established a reference database of genetic disorders on evidence-based research on the most common genetic disorders in the Arab world, with community partners and conducted multiple population screening programs to date.
UAE GDA population screening projects consist of a comprehensive campaign with education, awareness, screening and research and the programs have led to nationwide legislation on the most common genetic disorders.
UAE pre-marital screening legislation came in to effect in 2006 and is imperative to examine the detection and prevention of at risk marriages, minimizing the prevalence and impact of common genetic disorders. The Premarital Screening Program in the UAE is mandatory & influences marriage decisions. It plays a crucial role in that it allows informed reproductive decisions. Other population screening campaigns include UAE Free of Newly Born Children with Thalassemia Campaign, popular screening program for Hemoglobinopathies, a folic acid deficiency and Folic Acid Supplement Project.

Established in 1996, the Swiss Business Council Dubai & Northern Emirates (SBC) is a non-profit organisation, licensed by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since its formation, the SBC has successfully promoted the interests of companies and individuals with connections between the UAE and Switzerland. The SBC provides a lively and stimulating forum whereby members may identify, discuss and pursue common interests regarding their activities.
Overseen by an Executive Committee, the SBC organises regular events and activities, including presentations with influential local and expatriate decision-makers, introduction of new Swiss companies in the UAE, educational workshops, guided tours and discussions with representatives of the UAE and Swiss governments. The Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Research (CIDER) conducts multi-disciplinary research on priority infectious diseases in Southern Africa, in order to improve disease prevention and management. The Centre has strong links to service providers at provincial and national level, and a long track record of conducting operations research around program effectiveness and service delivery challenges. Staff include epidemiologists, biostatisticians, mathematical modelers, public health and digital health specialists.
